FootJoy Fuel Golf Shoes Review

The new FootJoy Fuel golf shoes are a spikeless option wrapped into an athletic design that will appeal to a wide range of players. Boasting stylish, modern colors and technology, the FootJoy Fuel is a shoe that will get a lot of use for me this golf season.

FootJoy Fuel Technology

You don’t often think about technology in a golf shoe, but the Fuel is a step in that direction (pun intended).

Golf shoes need to be comfortable at all costs. The amount of walking a player will experience in 18 holes is about the same no matter if they ride in a cart or carry their bag. Keeping your feet safe, dry, and comfortable can make or break your golf round experience.

The FootJoy Fuel was designed to offer optimal traction and support in a spikeless athletic product with modern flair. It offers a waterproof, durable construction to keep your feet dry no matter the conditions. In fact, FootJoy offers a one-year waterproof warranty for the Fuels, further emphasizing their capability in this area.

The Fuels are also very lightweight with superior traction on the turf. This allows the player to worry less about their feet and more about their game.

FootJoy’s patented Flex Last offers a full rounded toe character with a full fit across the forefoot and instep. A toe spring and a slightly narrow heel completes the athletic profile.

Performance and Feel

I’m a huge golf shoe addict and have a collection that is borderline worrisome. I can’t get enough of the latest golf shoe designs and technology, and the FootJoy Fuel quickly rose to the top of my list as a favorite in my arsenal.

There’s nothing to dislike about these shoes. The fit is phenomenal as the shoe hugs your feet to provide support in all the right places, including around the ankle and in the heel. There’s nothing worse than feeling your foot slide out of the shoe when walking, even when wearing your usual size. The FootJoy Fuel fits true-to-size and like a dream.

The spikeless bottom sole provides just enough traction to instill confidence that you’ll stay connected well to the turf with no slipping. The vented material toward the top of the shoe keeps your feet cool without being a welcome mat for moisture to enter the shoe on early morning or rainy rounds.

The color options for the Fuels are also excellent. I prefer the modern, minimalist designs in pretty much anything I wear, but with a splash of color to showcase my personality on the course. FootJoy nailed it here.

Overall Impression

The FootJoy Fuel golf shoes are some of the best I’ve tried to date. This is a brand known for their durability, functionality and innovation, and the Fuels deliver in all areas. Moderately priced at $129.99 for the base model, the FootJoy Fuel is a must-have this golf season.
