Top Golf Coming to Naperville

Top Golf, the ultra-popular driving range/restaurant/bar experience, has plans to open a second Illinois-based facility in Naperville, according to the Daily Herald. Even better, this is literally in my backyard. Like, within 10 driving minutes.

Top Golf officials pitched plans this week for a 65,000-square-foot, $20 million driving range with a bar, restaurant and corporate events area to Naperville liquor commissioners as part of a request to sell alcohol until 2 a.m. on the weekends.

The current Top Golf location in the state -- Wood Dale -- is often swamped with golfers looking to grab a driving range bay. At times the wait list can reach upwards of two hours, especially on the weekend. The addition of a second facility in the Chicago suburbs makes perfect sense and gives customers a second option.

Currently there are 11 Top Golf locations worldwide, including Houston, Dallas, Alphretta, and other locations in Europe. According to the company website, there are additional locations expected to open in a number of cities throughout the United States.
