Stricker Making Noise in FedEx Playoffs

Perhaps the only other player with enough momentum to give Tiger a run for the FedEx Cup, Steve Stricker is currently tied for the lead on the 72nd fairway at the Deutsche Bank Championship.

Even if Steve does not win this tournament, he has played well enough these past few weeks to get a renewed sense of respect in this season's PGA Tour Playoffs... and a current #2 ranking in the points leaderboard. Heading into this weekend's BMW Championship in Lemont, Illinois at the newly-renovated Cog Hill, Stricker looks to be the favorite underdog (if that even makes sense) to win the Cup with 2 events remaining.

Coupled with the new Playoff structure this season, any of the Top 5 points leaders have a chance at the Cup, but no other player has had as much momentum and consistent play than Mr. Stricker, or as I like to call him, University of Illinois' finest. Tiger still remains the popular favorite for the eventual champion, but recently the only thing Woods has shown in terms of consistency is, well, consistently inconsistent.

As Stricker seems to be about a foot away from winning in Boston, I personally will pick him to have the best chance at winning the Cup when all is said and done. Here's looking forward to an exciting week in Lemont.
