Sisters Each Record Hole-in-One During Round
I often wonder what I would do if (and hopefully when) I record a hole-in-one. The accomplishment would more than likely be accompanied by shrill, high-pitched screaming and spasmatic running around the tee box... and then whatever response my playing partners would also have. Until that time arrives, however, I am left to live my "Ace Life" vicariously through stories I read on the internet.
According to a recent story posted in the New York Times, two sisters from Oklahoma have provided the latest installement to "cool golf moments". Erica and Lindsey Bensch, both members of the Central Oklahoma golf team, are celebrating holes-in-one recorded in the same round.
Erica Bensch, a junior, had the ace on the 124-yard No. 3 hole, using a gap wedge in windy conditions. Less than two hours later, freshman Lindsey Bensch knocked in an 8-iron on the 142-yard No. 11 hole.
What is even more impressive is that both collegiate golfers recorded solid rounds that day, with Erica shooting a 1-under 69 and Lindsey coming in at even par.
If I had to guess, neither player would have screamed as womanly and loudly as I undoubtedly will when my time comes. And I have no problem admitting that.
