Rory McIlroy Complains About Air Time, Gets Pounced by Crane

Rory McIlroy is quickly becoming the next addition to my "Who I Can't Stand List", joining Colin Montgomerie, Lee Westwood, and Ian Poulter.  And yes, I am fully aware they are all Euro Tour players. According to NBC Sports' Ryan Ballengee, McIlroy and fellow blow-hard Lee Westwood were voicing their complaints about not getting "enough airtime" during the first round of the WGC Accenture Match Play Championship yesterday.  While I also don't always agree with the way Golf Channel televises events and seems (in my opinion) to hold a bias towards American players, it's still called the 'Golf Channel' and not the 'European Golf Channel'.

Regardless, McIlroy won his first round match to be paired against American Ben Crane in round two Thursday morning.  In addition, Confident Rory was going to have plenty of air time to show everyone exactly how great he is.

He proceeded to lose to Ben Crane 8&7, which would be the biggest margin of victory thus far in the 2011 tournament.  Crane would actually win two holes on pars.  McIlroy would eventually concede the match to Crane in the 11th fairway... where Crane's ball was located; Rory had driven his ball into the desert.
