My Swing Evolution: The Claw by Christo Garcia

While this is an older video from Christo Garcia's My Swing Evolution YouTube vault, I think it adequately describes what he and I discussed in a recent podcast regarding what he calls "The Claw." Essentially, The Claw is a backswing position that Christo uses to describe where your right arm, elbow, wrist and hand should be just before your downswing. I use it as a benchmark position during my practice sessions, sometimes starting my practice swing from the Claw position. This helps me ingrain the "feel" of being properly on-plane, which is something I struggle with on the course.

Christo also describes a great practice routine for you to try on the driving range that stresses hitting the golf ball with an upper body rotation instead of throwing your arms at the ball. Good stuff.
