Ken Green Ready to Return to Champions Tour
According to a recent article in the
New York Times, troubled golf professional Ken Green has decided to make his return to competitive golf this weekend on the Champions Tour.
Ken Green will take a swing at getting back to a normal life on Friday in Savannah, Ga. Slightly more than 10 months after the traffic accident that killed his brother and his girlfriend and led to the amputation of his right leg below the knee, Green will try out his newly reconstructed golf game on the Champions Tour. After multiple operations to repair damage to his jaw, eye orbit and shattered left ankle, Green was fitted with a prosthesis and has rehabilitated while working on his game with his teacher, Peter Kostis.
Before some recent work with Kostis, who is also an analyst on CBS golf telecasts, Green said he had slipped into some bad habits and was having trouble breaking 40 for nine holes in practice rounds with his friend Mark Calcavecchia, a PGA Tour veteran.
