Fantasy Golf Picks: The Heritage

This week's stop on the PGA Tour is The Heritage at beautiful Harbour Town Golf Links in Hilton Head, South Carolina.  As one of the more picturesque courses in the country, Harbour Town will welcome defending champion Jim Furyk back to the site of his 2010 win en route to what woudl become a FedEx Cup championship later in the year.  Winners of this event receive an ugly trophy and an even uglier plaid jacket, however The Heritage often brings out many top players on Tour.  Read on to see who I chose for my fantasy golf picks for The Heritage. A List

Starter: Jim Furyk; Bench: Matt Kuchar

One of these two guys will win in 2011; I am confident of that fact.  Defending champion Jim Furyk has a good chance this week at one of his favorite courses... and besides, he looks pretty sharp in the plaid blazer.  Matt Kuchar has been playing really solid golf this season however has yet to find his way into the winner's circle.  Here's hoping one of these two players will be able to keep their games together for four full rounds and mark a talley in my fantasy golf win column.

B List

Starters: Bo Van Pelt, Spencer Levin; Bench: Ben Crane, Davis Love III

Bo Van Pelt and Spencer Levin have both had stellar fantasy golf scoring years to this point (27.77 and 35.16 points, respectively), so here's hoping both men can continue their strong play come the weekend.  In previous Hertiage events, Van Pelt has averaged 36.40 points for the tournament while Levin has talleyed an impressive 40 fantasy points throughout his career at Harbour Town.  Likewise, both Ben Crane and Davis Love III have also played exceptional golf over their careers at the course, making them solid reserve players this week in South Carolina.  I would not be surprised if two or more of these players finished in the Top 10 this week.

C List

Starter: Jason Day; Bench: Stewart Cink

Everyone remembers the memorable Masters performance Jason Day exhibited two weeks ago, helping him to a tie for second place with fellow-Aussie Adam Scott at Augusta.  He has earned his way to my starting position for this week as a result, despite a less-than-favorable career at Harbour Town (only averages 26 points in two events).  Stewart Cink, on the other hand, has traditionally fared very well in this event (34.8 points overall), however his spotty play in 2011 makes him more of a reserve option this week for me.
