Cleveland Golf 588 Altitude Driver Review

cleveland golf 588 altitudeCleveland Golf has quickly risen to a top contender for best drivers in golf over the last few years, so it should come as no surprise that their new 588 Altitude driver continues that trend. Simply put, the entire premise of the Cleveland Golf 588 Altitude driver is to help you get your golf ball airborne... and to keep it there for as long as possible.

I had the chance to test out the Cleveland Golf 588 Altitude driver this week and can safely say it delivers on its promise. I was able to routinely pound drives further than my current TaylorMade R1, which was slightly unexpected. Then again, I should have realized a name like "Altitude" was a huge clue.

The club's look and feel is pleasing to the eye and hands, which most golfers will find to be critical to their confidence on the tee box. Cleveland has spent a lot of time perfecting the balance between offering an ultralight driver (270 grams) with a sense of stability throughout the club, promoting increased control throughout your swing.

Weight in the driver is distributed lower and deeper than most drivers on the market, adding to the lift you will immediately notice on each tee shot you hit. Finally, the stock Premium Matrix Radix Shaft is designed for a mid-to-high launch without compromising a smooth feel and explosive clubhead speed through impact.

The Cleveland Golf 588 Altitude driver will hit retail stores on November 15th and will be available in 9-degree, 10.5-degree or 12-degrees of loft.
