BMW Championship Returning to Conway Farms in 2015

IMGP3118-hole-17-b_-_Copy.550x367This week the PGA Tour announced that the 2015 BMW Championship will be returning to Conway Farms Golf Club in Lake Forest, Ill. The tournament was last held at the north suburb course in 2013 and was one of the more exciting BMW Championships in recent years. While Zach Johnson came out as the eventual winner, the tournament was highlighted by Jim Furyk's incredible 59 (with a bogey!) during the third round. This year's tournament is being held at Cherry Hills Country Club just outside of Denver.

“The overwhelming support we received from Chicagoland golf fans, the professionalism of the staff at Conway Farms and the hospitality of its members made the decision to return to Conway Farms an easy one,” said Vince Pellegrino, the Western Golf Association’s senior vice president of tournaments. “We received some great feedback from the 2013 BMW Championship, which will help us make the 2015 BMW Championship even better when we return to Chicago’s North Shore.”

Having attended all four days of last year's tournament, I can say that I was incredibly impressed by how well Conway Farms served as the home to its first PGA Tour event. While the course was hard to navigate as a spectator in some areas, the overall experience was something I will not soon forget.
