Sunday Golf Ryder Stand Bag Review

Sunday Golf my be best known for their minimalist, half-set golf bags best enjoyed on a walk, but their new Ryder Stand Bag ups the ante for fans of the brand. Featuring all the bells and whistles you want in a full-size stand bag, the Sunday Golf Ryder is an excellent, lightweight option for the modern golfer.

Sunday Golf Ryder Stand Bag Features

Billed as an ultra-light full-size stand bag, the Sunday Golf Ryder is perfect for all types of golfers. Prefer to walk your round? The Ryder offers all the pockets, club dividers and insulated features you need while hoofing it. Prefer to ride? The Ryder’s outer materials are durable and the integrated cart strap channel keeps your bag secure.

The Ryder features pockets for your golf balls, tees/ball markers, rain hood and/or jacket, your GPS devices, and even an insulated cooler pocket for beverages. A velcro patch on the upper half of the bag secures your glove and the dual-strap design coupled with a protective hip cushion will satisfy those who prefer to walk.

Available in multiple color combinations, you can also choose to custom embroider the replaceable golf ball pouch pocket liner with any phrase or brand name you wish.

Performance and Overall Impression

I particularly enjoyed the Ryder Stand Bag’s club organization, featuring multiple slots to keep my clubs separated and in order. Smaller bags have a tendency to only feature a single divider, which can cause your clubs to become a tangled mess. Sunday Golf paid close attention to what makes a full-size stand bag great.

The overall weight of the bag is also a huge plus in that this is an extremely easy bag to carry. Small features like thin dual straps, a hip cushion on the side of the bag, and an extra lift bar to make loading and unloading the bag in your trunk are customer delighters.

I did find some of the pockets to be a little shallow, particularly on the side of the bag. This is probably done to protect the overall minimal aesthetic of the bag, but don’t expect to load dozens of golf balls into it. It would have also been nice to see a smaller, felt-lined pouch to protect personal valuables, but then again, leave those expensive things at home.

The insulated cooler pouch is a nice touch, although only fits a few cans of your favorite beverage and not bottles. Regardless, the pouch will double as nice protection for more than just liquid thanks to its wide yet shallow design.

Overall, I very much enjoy the look and weight of the Sunday Golf Ryder Stand Bag. The legs are sturdy, the outer material feels very durable, and customization options are a nice to have. With a few small tweaks to future designs — perhaps deeper pockets? — the Sunday Golf Ryder is sure to be a budget-friendly and stylish option for golfers of all types.
