TRUE Linkswear LUX Hybrid Review

The new TRUE Linkswear LUX Hybrid golf shoes offer a perfect combination of comfort, stability and style for the modern golfer. Packed with design features like a 100% Napa leather saddle, support toward the heel and a waterproof knit upper, the TRUE LUX Hybrid might be the perfect golf shoe for any course condition.

TRUE LUX Hybrid Tech and Features

As is the case with all shoe offerings from TRUE Linkswear, the LUX Hybrid shoe focuses on comfort and stability. An Achilles Heel pad, for example, adds protection toward the back heel of the shoe that keeps you stable throughout your golf swing or simply walking the course. This is coupled with an elevated heel lock system to provide even more structure to the overall build.

Since we love to play golf no matter the conditions, the TRUE LUX Hybrid also offers superb waterproof protection despite featuring a knit upper. This allows golfers who prefer to #EnjoyTheWalk during their round to stay dry and comfortable without worrying about added weight in their shoes.

Additional upgrades to the LUX Hybrid include all areas of the shoe’s construction, including the insole insert, midsole build and more. For a full list of product details, visit the TRUE Linkswear product page here.

Feel and Performance

Full disclosure: I am a huge fan of TRUE Linkswear shoes and am absolutely biased. I have no shame in disclosing that to you, because it’s for good reason.

The TRUE LUX Hybrid is yet another triumph for the brand in what I would call the “traditional golf shoe” category. TRUE likes to design golf shoes that can be worn on and off the golf course; however, the TRUE LUX does not fit this bill and is entirely a golf shoe design.

These shoes are very lightweight despite the number of features in their design. I was pleased to see how well they form-fitted to my feet right out of the box. This lightweight “custom fit” feel is commonly found with the brand and is exemplified perfectly with the TRUE LUX.

I went with the High Vis White color option, which also includes a hint of camouflage markings along the outside saddle. While not a huge fan of the pattern, I can appreciate the splash of style on an otherwise “plain” looking color option. TRUE offers five different options on their product website here.

In terms of performance, the TRUE LUX made good on its promises. My feet remained dry and protected throughout an early morning round while mud or dirt was easily wiped off the outer materials when needed. i was extremely impressed with how lightweight the TRUE LUX felt while walking despite the number of features in their design.

Finally, the TRUE LUX features adequate traction to maintain control during your swing or walking on hills or uneven terrain. While I wouldn’t classify the bottom sole as the best traction feature I’ve tried, the rubber “nubs” on the bottom of the shoe did what they needed to do.

Overall Impression

TRUE Linkswear continues to amaze with their new LUX Hybrid offering. It’s been an absolute pleasure watching this brand evolve over the years from a disruptor to the gold standard in comfortable golf shoe design. They continue to push the boundaries on what makes the perfect casual golf shoe, daring other brands to catch up or be left behind.
