BGT Brava Driver Shaft Review
The new Breakthrough Golf Technology (BGT) Brava driver shaft offers incredible stability, distance and control in a lightweight offering for golfers of any skill level. Constructed from high-tech materials derived from the experience of brand founder Barney Adams, the BGT Brava driver shaft might be one of the highest performing on the market today.
I had the chance to install and review this shaft recently. Here are the results.
BGT Brava Driver Shaft Technology
Similar to the Brava fairway wood line also available, the driver shaft boasts incredibly stability, low oscillation, and materials to optimize launch conditions for a golfer’s swing speed. Priced at a healthy $439.99, the Brava line is a premium option that offers golfers optimal performance no matter their skill.
Each BGT Brava driver shaft delivers the power and consistency to perform shot after shot regardless of swing speed or driver model. Golfers can experience maximum ball speed and smash factor because Brava delivers more center strikes and a better face angle at impact.
Each shaft features exclusive Speedflite NRG™ technology built with premium Toray™ carbon fiber, which is 10x the strength of steel at a fraction of its weight. This translates to less energy needed when swinging and results in an exceptionally stable driver head for more distance and tighter ball dispersion.
Performance and Feel
As you can tell from the description above, the BGT Brava driver shaft makes a lot of promises to the player looking for more distance and control off the teebox. After spending an afternoon with the Brava driver shaft, I can safely say it delivers on all of them.
The Brava driver shaft feels lightweight in the hands and throughout the swing, providing faster swing speeds than what I usually produce. This equated to faster ball speed as well, assuming I was able to make contact on the driver’s sweet spot. Thanks to the overall stability of the driver shaft build, this was no issue, leading to ball speeds that were 5 mph faster on average compared to my gamer.
Of course, it should be noted that ball speed, launch and control are all relative to an individual swing, especially when considering the wide range of driver head models available. The BGT Brava performed better than my previous gamer driver shaft, which for my game was all that mattered.
What I appreciated most about the Brava driver shaft was how easy it was to control. I was able to repeat my desired ball flight (a draw) with every swing, while the overall stability in the shaft all but eliminated the deadly hook that often costs me strokes during a round. Distance gains are one thing; hitting more fairways while benefitting from longer drives is an entirely different ballgame.
Overall Impression
The BGT Brava driver shaft will be one of the best products of its kind in 2023, I have no doubt. I can’t think of a golfer type or ability level that won’t benefit from installing one of these in their driver.
Yes, this is a premium driver shaft in terms of price, and it’s worth every penny. Make the investment in your game this season and seriously consider upgrading with the BGT Brava driver shaft.
