Nate Bargatze’s Double Debut: New Comedy Special and Pebble Beach ProAm In The Same Week

“I guess hello world, huh.”

Twenty-year-old Tiger Woods famously said this line as he smiled into the wall of cameras when he debuted as a pro in 1996. Nike went on to use it in their marketing materials that helped launch their long lasting and extremely profitable partnership.

On January 31st, Nate Bargatze debuted his 5th comedy special on Amazon Prime titled “Hello World.” In both a recent appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon and on his own show, The Nateland Podcast, he shared that he wanted the special to have “a nice greeting.” But deeper than that, it was a nod to Tiger and that infamous quote. He also got to meet Tiger recently and made sure to tell him that he named his comedy special after him.

Nate is more than just a golf fan, though. When he’s not on tour or at home with his wife and daughter in Nashville, he’s usually playing golf. He plays to a 4-handicap and has even gotten pointers mid-tournament via text from Jason Day.

He tells a golf joke in every one of his specials, including this most recent one. He admitted to Golf Digest that his reason for doing this is strategic, “so that people might ask me to come play places!”

Well, it’s working. Nate is teeing it up this weekend in his Pebble Beach ProAm debut alongside other funny-guys Will Arnett, Jason Bateman, and of course Bill Murray. Hello World is live now on Amazon Prime. You can also catch Nate live on the Be Funny Tour.
