Clinch Golf Glove Review

Clinch Golf is an independent golf glove, apparel and accessory brand looking to make a splash in a very popular market. Their golf gloves boast materials that are “stronger than leather” and more breathable, flexible, and comfortable than the competition.

We got our hands on a few pairs of Clinch Golf gloves recently and took them out on the course. Here are the results.

Clinch Golf Glove Performance

CrushGroove fabric is the main ingredient for Clinch Golf gloves. This innovative material lines the palm of every glove and feels very different from the typical cabretta leather most competing brands rely on.

This fabric feels closer to a soft textile cloth than a rugged leather, which does raise an eyebrow or two at first. Golfers are conditioned to expect certain features in golf products, especially gloves. Upon feeling the material for the first time, we thought there was no way CrushGroove would offer adequate grip during a swing.

We were wrong.

The Clinch gloves felt great when gripping a club, and the CrushGroove palms still felt tacky and secure during the swing. These felt better than traditional gloves, however, due to their softness and breathable materials. The feel of these gloves are impressive and something that you have to feel for yourself to truly understand.

While the temperatures were cool during our review, it was easy to feel how breathable the Clinch gloves are and how they’d perform in warmer weather. The outer material is porous and light, allowing for adequate airflow and comfort throughout your round.

The glove’s Velcro closure remained secure — as you would expect — and the overall fit was perfectly snug without being too tight in the fingers or palm. Golf glove sizes in competing brands can be variable from one design to the next, but Clinch Golf’s sizing was consistent across the board.

Overall Impression

Clinch Golf is operating in a golf demographic that is not only saturated, but highly subjective and traditional. Golf gloves have remained the same for decades, mainly because leather and synthetics have been the main avenue brands have chosen for their offerings. The golf glove market is a risky place.

At the time of this writing Clinch Golf is still starting out, but they’ve got a ton of momentum and a product that truly impressed us. Their gloves are comfortable, high-quality and durable for a price that is comparable to the best premium gloves on the market, if not cheaper.
