Callaway Great Big Bertha driver 2023

Callaway Great Big Bertha Clubs (2023)

The new Callaway Great Big Bertha driver is a great example of what the combination of advanced technology and high-end materials can provide to the game. Easily the most impressive offering by Callaway to date, this driver is packed with features to help you hit it longer, straighter, and more consistently.

Comprised of a lightweight forged carbon shell that can be formed into a variety of different shapes, the GBB driver is 30 grams (or 10 percent) lighter overall than previous models. This allows for faster swing speeds without compromising club shape or build. An adjustable weight toward the sole’s heel adds just enough heft to help with launch and center-of-gravity, which equates to optimal launch conditions and distance.

The brand’s patented and popular Jailbreak technology is still a feature, which stabilizes the club’s crown and clubhead’s overall shape at impact. Retail: $699.99.

Similar to the driver, Callaway’s new Great Big Bertha fairway woods and hybrids also feature Jailbreak technology, lighter overall weight in the clubhead, and sole weighting to help with launch conditions.

Also of note in the metalwoods, which is also found in the irons, is a combination of lighter materials with heavier options like steel and tungsten. In the past, modern clubs would need to sacrifice the former in order to use the latter. Callaway has flipped this relationship to allow for more creativity in clubmaking, which they believe translates to positive outcomes for the golfer. Fairway woods retail for $499.99 and hybrids go for $449.99.

Finally, the new Great Big Bertha irons are perhaps the most impressive of the offering.

Their body is comprised of pure titanium, allowing them to easily be bent to match the lie angle every golfer requires for their game. A relatively large, 145-gram tungsten weight is screwed into the back of the iron to add weight, improve COG and provide optimal launch on every shot. This allows players to control spin rates on the otherwise super-lightweight build. The irons retail for $449.99 per club.
