Lyle & Scott Golf Clothing Review

Lyle & Scott is a UK-based apparel brand that has a deep lineage in golf, stemming back from the late 1800’s. Originating in Scotland and now based in London, Lyle & Scott started as a golf knitwear brand and has expanded to a full apparel line featuring classic styles, incredible comfort, and a feel of luxury.

Lyle & Scott Styles and Offerings

While originally focused on the male golfer many years ago, Lyle & Scott offers styles and options for men, women, and children. Golf remains at the forefront of their business, with accessories and other sport offerings mixed in.

On-course options include staples like golf polos, shorts, pants, and outerwear. Each piece includes the brand’s subtle golden eagle logo, which adds to the overall look and design of the garment. Lyle & Scott designers focus not only on style, but comfort and flexibility as well. It is clear that these clothes are made for golfers, by golfers.

An impressive catalog of casual options are also available. Sweaters, hoodies, joggers, and crewneck sweatshirts are among these options for all customers. The brand’s t-shirt collection is impressive in terms of volume and variety, boasting designs that can easily be worn out or simply resting at home.

Outwear is also available on the company’s website, which is easy to navigate and features a wide array of designs from which to choose. I particularly love their quarter-zip and full jacket offerings, both for their look and warmth.

Overall Impression

I had not tried clothing from Lyle & Scott prior to this review, but they’ve quickly become one of my favorites. Every article of clothing I’ve tried features incredible quality in every sense of the word.

As a fan of minimal styles and designs, I was incredibly impressed by the brand’s subtle colors, smooth designs and wide range of options that mix well together. Often times a clothing brand will offer shirts and pants that simply do not match well, but this is not the case with Lyle & Scott. Everything blends nicely together, making your shopping experience seamless and fun.

In terms of durability, the pieces I reviewed were top notch. Everything from the materials used down to the stitching and zippers felt like an article of luxury clothing. I have no doubt that these pieces will remain in my wardrobe rotation for both on- and off-course wearings.
