REVIEW: TRUE Linkswear Knit II Shoes

TRUE Linkswear Knit II.

TRUE Linkswear Knit II.

The new and updated TRUE Linkswear Knit II shoes are a fresh take on the casual golf shoe, featuring subtle yet important design enhancements for comfort and durability. Designed to be enjoyed on or off the course, the Knit II is much more than your typical golf shoe.

TRUE Linkswear Knit II Features

The original Knit shoe by TRUE was their best-selling product of all-time, so any subsequent release would have thousands of eyeballs waiting and ready. I proudly sported the OG Knits for almost two years on and off the course, marveling at their durability and sustained comfort for the duration.

The Knit II’s feature the same lightweight focus as their predecessors, along with all-day comfort, a sock-fit feel and an extremely breathable outer build. While these shoes are not made to be waterproof, they epitomize what it means to build a shoe that will withstand repeated heavy use, even to the point of being worn daily.

Increased flexibility, durability and the addition of WANDERLUX super foam midsole make this TRUE’s best TRUE Knit yet. The soft spike sole remains, providing the golfer an appropriate amount of traction on any terrain without feeling like cleats on pavement.

Appearance and Feel

Right out of the box, the TRUE Knit II’s look similar to the originals with subtle, yet noticeable, design differences. The outer material feels and looks more durable, thanks to what appears to be a thicker knit design. This does not add to the overall weight of the shoe, and is a welcome sight for those who may have felt the previous version seemed too thin.

Stitching and overall build remain top-notch as you would expect. Every detail appears to be meticulously developed, providing a final aesthetic that rivals any product costing much more. This includes the shoelaces — particularly the rubber tips — that feel thoroughly durable and high-quality. It’s the small details like this that matter to the consumer, and TRUE overlooked nothing in this new release.

In terms of feel, the TRUE Knit II’s are extraordinary. When you try something from TRUE, you expect comfort at all times, and these shoes deliver on that expectation.

After walking two rounds in my TRUE Knit II’s, it’s safe to say these are the best walking shoes I own for the golf course. Traction was perfect throughout the round, my feet stayed cool and dry, and I noticed minimal grass stains. It’s always nice to go from your car directly to the first tee without changing shoes, and the Knit II’s are the perfect option for the golfer looking to minimize fuss and just get on the course.

The Holiday Season is here, and there might not be a better option for the golfer in your life than the TRUE Knit II’s. Purchase them at their website here.
