2020 Holiday Gift Guide

The holidays are rapidly approaching and while this year will look different for most households due to the pandemic, so too did the golf industry in 2020. It’s been awhile since we’ve done one of these, but our 2020 Holiday Gift Guide includes some of the best equipment, tech, and apparel we tried this year.

Have a special someone who just picked up the game this year? We hope this guide gives you some ideas for the holidays.

Srixon ZX Irons

ZX+Irons_Group-3.jpg

I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention the newest from our friends at Srixon Golf: the truly outstanding ZX irons and utility. While it’s true they will be available a little later on the calendar, this could be a perfect opportunity to surprise that special someone with a teaser gift!

Golfers of any skill level will love the new tech and design of the ZX irons, which boast incredible ball speed and forgiveness thanks to their MainFrame technology. Available in the more forgiving ZX5 and player-profile ZX7 options, you cannot go wrong with considering what will be atop many golfers’ lists this season. Don’t forget to add the incredible ZX Utility iron for a little extra holiday cheer.

Tour Edge EXS 220 Fairway Woods

IMG_0427.jpg

While this choice can be extended to include the entire club series, the Tour Edge EXS 220 fairway woods are one of the best we’ve ever tried.

Located in the suburbs of Chicago, Tour Edge continues to push the boundaries of what’s possible in an affordable yet high-performing golf club. The EXS 220 performed admirably in our review, highlighted by incredible distance off the turf and seemingly out of any lie. Their patented Cup Face tech incorporates quench-hardened high density steel, giving golfers everywhere a few extra yards in the tank, even off the turf.

Golfers new and old love their accessories, and Asher Golf gloves are one of the best in the business. Featuring unique styles and colors, these high-quality gloves might be the perfect gift this season.

Most golfers will say the typical “comfort” and “fit,” but Asher Golf knows that only scratches the surface. Stitch Golf Ultimate Garment Bag

How could we not include the incredible Stitch Golf Ultimate Garment Bag (UGB) on this list? It all but stole the show at the 2020 PGA Merchandise Show in Orlando, and continues to generate buzz 10 months later.

The most unique feature of the UGB is its ability to fold completely flat to open up for a “hidden” compartment that houses a suit jacket, 1/4-zip sweater or similar outerwear. This allows you to pack a business suit, for example, completely separate from the rest of the bag’s contents. Not only does this completely eliminate the threat of your suit getting damaged mid-flight, but it allows for more packing real estate.

Ben Hogan ICON Irons

You can’t go wrong with anything from the Ben Hogan Golf Equipment Company, but their ICON irons are one of the best releases they’ve ever had. At factory-direct pricing, they will surely be on most golfers’ holiday lists this year.

The ICON irons feature a style that screams classic “Ben Hogan”, including a forged shape and muscle-back design traditionalists and modern-day players can both appreciate. A blade design through-and-through, the ICON irons feature minimal offset, a thin topline and weighting that will appeal to players who prefer to shape their shots.

MNML Golf Bag

2_720x.jpg

Our friends at MNML Golf offer one of the most unique takes on a golf accessory every single golfer needs: a golf bag. Featuring an incredible tech add-on package that includes solar panels, phone chargers, and a Bluetooth speaker, the MNML Golf bag makes an excellent gift.

On the course, the MNML Golf bag is lightweight and sturdy for those (rare) walking rounds I partake in from time to time. The dual-straps are comfortable on your shoulders, the felt-lined club dividers minimize club chatter, and the bag’s stand legs unfold perfectly every time.

The look and feel of the bag’s outer leather is stunning, especially in my preferred black color option. Padding is placed throughout the bag in all the right places for those who prefer to walk, making the MNML Golf bag the ideal full-set carry bag.

TRUE Linkswear Knit II Golf Shoes

download.jpg

Easily one of the most comfortable golf shoes we’ve ever worn, the TRUE Linkswear Knit II’s are an updated version of the originals that redefined the term “casual golf footwear.”

The Knit II’s feature the same lightweight focus as their predecessors, along with all-day comfort, a sock-fit feel and an extremely breathable outer build. While these shoes are not made to be waterproof, they epitomize what it means to build a shoe that will withstand repeated heavy use, even to the point of being worn daily.

Increased flexibility, durability and the addition of WANDERLUX super foam midsole make this TRUE’s best TRUE Knit yet. The soft spike sole remains, providing the golfer an appropriate amount of traction on any terrain without feeling like cleats on pavement.
